Squip’s new spawn batch has been hatched, wrangled and placed in support solution tubes while they go through this first life stage! They need caretakers who can stir up the nutrient sediment weekly.
During the first stage of development, neonatal Sepioids will excrete a large amount of iron that you can separate from solution by using a magnet! This is very handy when it’s time to filter and cycle the nutrient solution inside the support tube. These are slightly unstable prototype tubes that may be prone to leaks ( no escapes so far!) The nutrient solution is non toxic and will only stain human skin for a few months at most if a leak does occur. Each spawn has a name and some handy info that will help their new caretaker meet their emotional needs, written by Squip herself! "
These 8" tubes contain a prop Sepioid embryo sculped by hand and cast in translucent urethane. These are filled with a mixture of water and mineral oil that will create bubbles and motion when the tube is gently shaken. The different glitter, sand, clear glass beads and tiny crystals make a lovely flow of colors and reflected light that many people find to be calming. They also have iron powder mixed in that you can manipulate with a magnet!
Each tube has a glow in the dark base and a holographic decal that reads " thank you mammal I feel welcome on Kepler -609c" in a Sepioid general dialect. (Kepler 609-c is a desert planet where Squip often chooses to spawn, the bottles are still a bit dusty from the high winds there!)
These are very much experimental pieces that took a bit of work to figure out and I will do a few things differently next time! I had some leaking issues but they should be okay now....but there is a SMALL chance they could weep mineral oil during shipping, i will wrap these in plastic for intergalactic transport. The embryos inside were sealed with a clear coat but that seems to be sloughing off in some but luckily this just adds to the specimen feel to the bottle. The casting itself is fine!
PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THESE BOTTLES! THEY ARE MEANT TO STAY SEALED!
