WILDWOOD OWL BLANK RAW CAST

This piece was sculpted in clay and has been cast in translucent urethane. Measures 16" long once assembled

It is in three parts, the main head with two (2) horns that must be glued into the main head. I recommend this epoxy. I also recommend mounting ( please screw it on from the back along with epoxy, it is heavy! Sink the screw heads into the wood to maintain a flat back) on a wood panel for extra strength before hanging on the wall. I used a keyhole mount over a drilled hole for hanging. Please do not underestimate the weight when hanging on the wall!

This blank will require trimming and sanding! Please be careful when sanding the delicate filigree on the bottom sides as they can snap off!

Another piece inspired by a trip to Scotland, spending time in the beautiful forests! I also had the chance to participate in a falconry session at the Shieldaig Lodge and flew a beautiful barn owl named Jeanie! She was perfectly silent in flight and had the most beautiful face that I knew I had to capture in clay when I got back to my workspace.
