SPACE WEREWOLF BALL JOINTED DOLL- CYGNUS

"Once the moon started to be colonized an astonishing thing occurred. As humans began to populate the surface of the moon,  inevitably one of these travelers was... a werewolf. As soon as they made their first lunar walk there was a flash of light and heat as the werewolf instantly transformed. Instead of becoming a hairy, snarling creature of murderous frenzy they had become a spectacular being made of both light and void with serene golden eyes. The creature shed it's ruined space suit, unaffected by the lack of atmosphere and heat, floating away with a joyful howl not heard by ears but felt with one's soul...."

It turns out that werewolves were always meant to ascend to the moon to become fully transformed. It was truly a curse as the unlucky earth- bound lupine creatures , until recently, had no means of reaching through space to complete the life cycle. No wonder earth werewolves were so filled with rage  for thousands of years! Their final form is that of a benevolent celestial being who's role is unknown. They can be found on the moon's surface in deep meditation or floating near settlements, curiously peering at inhabitants. They seem peaceful, with some grand unknowable role among the heavens. Once in a while a Space Werewolf can be observed floating out into the inky black void, howling in the eerie yet heartening way that they do. Where they go, we never know....

This is a one of a kind 15" tall resin cast articulated elastic tension doll aka ball jointed doll ( BJD) These are cast in translucent urethane with different swirling colors and glitters that shine through the surface. @tripdwyr took a digital scan of my handmade sculpture and it was then sliced / further articulated by Kippar , printed/modified by @syntheticephemera

It has a small delicate cord that can wrap around Cygnus' hand and the battery /switch can hide under the pillow.

This edition was professionally cast by a ball joint doll production company in a lovely translucent grey. The inside of the dolls are coated with a reflective gold that makes them even more luminous.

I used color shifting paint on the glass cabochon eyes and glass beads decorate the headscarf. The scarf is made from cotton with iridescent decorative eyes.

They are strung using elastic tension, most of the joints have been sueded which is a thin leather piece glued onto the inside joint surface to increase friction and help the joints stay posed. It is not a perfect solution so please turn the joint gently to insure the suede stays where it should. The shoulder joints have a silicone gasket on top of the suede.

This elastic may need more tension as the poses hold a bit softly, I didn't want to push the tightness too much so I leave this to the buyer's choice and expertise on restringing.

These pieces are clear coated with gloss that can be scratched, this is just a normal wear and tear imperfection. You can see some of this scratching near the joints, unfortunately! Handle gently to prevent damage.

They can stand on their own BUT this is very precarious! Please do not display them standing, they prefer to sit on their pillow cushions when not being admired and handled. Pillow and head gear are  included.

This is very much an art piece and not a toy made for hard play. A lot of work and love went into these and I hope they bring you joy!
