This mask is untrimmed! The eye holes will need to be dremeled out.
This piece is meant to be worn more as a headdress than a traditional mask, over the top of the head instead of the eyes. These are going to need a fair amount of filling in the tips of diamond shaped armor along the sides, the thing is a real pain in the ass to cast. It was either let buyers deal with a higher amount of finishing or charge a buttload to fill in all that stuff myself! Please refer to the close up photos of the blanks to get an idea of what the casts will look like. All of my raw casts require work to finish but this one will need a little more patching and resculpting in the sharp armor bits.
The opening measures 7.5" across at the widest point and could be widened a bit more with a dremel if needed. It is 17" long overall.
- This is for one (1) cast urethane unpainted, unfinished mask . The finished pictures are just an example of what can be done.
- Buyer will need to sand/remove the flash edges, cut open the eye holes and fill/remove any small surface air bubbles and open the nostrils themselves. This is a raw casting and will take work before it can be painted!
- A plastic nipper, a rasp , sandpaper or a dremel can be used to refine edges. Here is a little more detailed info. Buyer should add foam to the inside of the mask to customize the fit. Buyer may need to shape the mask using heat to get it to fit just right ( this is covered in the "shaping" section here )Some craft/paint/kit building knowledge is recommended. I cannot provide build help beyond the info included here and in links provided.
- Please be sure to provide the correct address when placing your order, all orders will be shipped to the address im provided with and cannot be changed after the order is placed. No exceptions, sorry!
- There are no refunds on pre-orders.
- Please do not buy a mask if any of the above is an issue! I WILL NOT REFUND PRE-ORDERS.
- You will receive a BLANK urethane mask. The finished photos are just an example of what the mask can look like when completed.
- This mask can be primed with any spray primer and painted with acrylics , etc. Seal with clear coat to prevent scuffs after painting.
- Elastic straps can be added to the inside of the mask with a bra slide for adjustments. I also recommend gluing soft foam to the inside so that the mask can fit on your face better!
RIGID URETHANE:
- This urethane is sensitive to heat. Please keep it out of direct sunlight as it can warp under it's own weight when hot. If the mask does not fit you canuse a heat gun or heat in the oven at around 175 degrees for a few minutes- (or immerse it in hot water) . Set the shape you want by dipping the warm mask in cold water or leaving on an upturned bowl or object to hold the shape while it cools. You may also need to dremel out the inside surface to make room.
- This is a project that should be attempted by adults or under adult supervision. Please read all safety warnings on materials you use. I am not responsible for any injuries sustained while customizing these masks.
-This mask fits most faces but a perfect fit is not guaranteed. Cannot be worn with glasses.
- Do not use this as safety equipment or a welding mask or anything else but costuming. Use common sense, please. I am not responsible for injuries sustained through improper use of this mask.
