Another piece inspired by a trip to Scotland, spending time in the beautiful forests! I also had the chance to participate in a falconry session at the Shieldaig Lodge and flew a beautiful barn owl named Jeanie! She was perfectly silent in flight and had the most beautiful face that I knew I had to capture in clay when I got back to my workspace.
This piece was sculpted in clay and has been cast in translucent urethane, painted with acrylics and mounted on wood board. The two translucent crystals were molded from real quartz and are also cast in urethane. Preserved moss and lichen line the twisting horns and gold leafing has been applied for a lustrous , gleaming shine that catches the light.
This measures 16" x 12" and mounts on the wall with metal keyhole hardware. Each is signed with an authenticity sticker on the back.
