THIS IS THE ROUGH DRAFT VERSION OF THE KNIFE. This is taken from the "junk mold", the first mold made from the clay sculpture. The mold didn't cure correctly and there is a lot of roughness. It is much thicker, less detailed and less smooth than the final crysknife version.

This is a RAW CASTING, you are not buying a finished product.

These are just under 12" long and cast in semi translucent , slightly flexible urethane. The slight flex allows them to not shatter easily but makes them a bit heat sensitive and the very thin tips of the blades will warp if not displayed properly. I recommend a knife stand similar to this one. Please treat these props with care! If your blade warps you can apply a little heat with a hairdryer, GENTLY bend it back and allow it to cool in the proper shape.

Once sanded, a gloss clear coat will really bring out the iridescent powders used with the castings! Weather them with acrylic washes to bring out the toothy surface detailing.

ALSO note the concave circle that was meant to house a glass cabochon to make a fancy pommel. It is a design element i wouldn't choose for a Fremen knife now that I am familiar with the source material ( i made this for my boyfriend's birthday before reading Dune) but the buyer can fill it in if they choose. The leather wrapped example in one of the pictures in this listing is the finished version that was gifted. Glue in some sand into the leather handles cracks for extra realism!!
