This is an experiment with cut metal shapes to make a metal version of my acrylic alien axe props.

Imperfect prototype!

This is 12" long with the top claw opened! The body is aluminum and the claws are copper. The drilled holes ended up being too small so the fit tolerance was too tight leading to screws not threading properly. I had to screw some parts on on both sides and some sheared off..i ended up cutting a few sheared screws and the ends are shapr. These can be ground down but since it's served it purpose as a learning piece I'd rather not put more time in.

The claws are tightly installed but will move. The piece is heavy thanks to the real copper claws, 1.5 lbs. This is still a rad prop that was expensive to make so I'd love for it to go to a new home!
