***THIS IS A PRE-ORDER- it takes me about two weeks to pour enough casts and allow them time to cure properly. ***
Inspired by the textures of fossil snaggletooth shark teeth, i created this armor for my own Wasteland Weekend costume. It was sculpted in wax clay and cast in neoprene aka synthetic latex rubber...but is safe for those with latex allergies. You can read more about it here! http://creaturecastrubber.com/
This shoulder piece is flexible but durable and very lightweight. It can be painted with acrylic paint and sealed. It can also be drilled into or dremeled. You can even use leather rivets on it! I think of this stuff sort of like tough leather once is is fully cured, it behaves very similarly. I have also used high heat hot glue to affix things to it. I would recommend that you store the piece so that it is not crushed to prevent it from warping but if it does, it can be set back to its normal shape. These will require some edge trimming, easily done with scissors or dremel.
This piece is 8.5" wide. It was sculpted to fit over a child sized football shoulder pad but could be used by itself or backed with a homemade pad. It also makes for a hilarious crotch armor piece but i didn't tell you that....
For some reason my store will not let me add my photos the usual way so i pasted them below...sorry!
