These stone carvings are found by forest paths and serve as an opportunity for travellers to petition for safety while crossing through the dense woodland. Offerings of small favored objects, morsels of indulgent food or small unusual rocks is an effective way to earn protection of this particular nature deity. Many travelers also leave small handmade effigies near these statues for others to take with them for continued luck. The custom is to replace a taken effigy with one's own carving on the next excursion through the area. There are reports of dishonest effigy "collectors" finding themselves stricken with a curse of gastrointestinal distress until the fair share is returned to the stone idol...
These 3.5 " finished figures were cast in urethane and coated in a real stone medium that makes the surface cold to the touch just like real stone! I added faux moss and paint to create a weathered effect. Each necklace has a stone bead made from fossil stegodon.
Please pick your 'lil guy by using the letters in the second pic! You will get the exact figure pictured.
While these look and feel like real stone, please display them indoors and treat them gently.
