DRYAD HORN- CAST BLANK PAIR

I recently went to Scotland and spent time walking in the beautiful forests, amazed by the fallen branches that littered the forest floor. Each branch was covered in a variety of moss and lichen, each one a little collection of varied flora. When I pulled up a elegantly shaped wood chunk that was covered in lichen, my boyfriend Steve said  "it's a dryad horn!" That inspired me to sculpt a pair of horns based on the lovely things i had seen in those forests. I loved sculpting these, it was a nice break from worrying about symmetry and smooth, hard surfaces!

Sculpted in clay and cast in solid , translucent urethane. Left horn is 2.6 ounces and 6.5" long, right horns is 2.3 ounces and 6" long. They are curved inside to sit on the head comfortably.

They work well mounted on a headband but be sure to get a band with some grip to it or bobby pin it to your hair ( if you have hair) so they don't slip forward. Moss could be glued onto the headband top to hide the band.

I also recommend gluing 1/4" flat elastic underneath the horns that ties around/under the head!

Paint with acrylics or just slap an alcohol wash and hot glue some preserved moss into the crevices if you are in a hurry!
