This is a one of a kind wearable piece of art! The original was sculpted in monster clay , molds made and cast in a semi flexible urethane. This was hand painted using many layers of acrylic and has been sealed with several clear coats. The ears are set on springs and will bounce with movement, causing the bell earrings to chime! The back of the head has flexible clear plastic fabric that was hand painted and detailed with markers, this helps cover the back of the wearer's head and creates fun chaotic movement. The jaw will move. Part of the jaw has a mesh "membrane" that helps hide the wearer's face a bit. The eyes are see through, they are made of a flexible visor plastic with a clear plastic dome on top. The sight will be a little darkened because of the visor but vision is good overall.
There is a 2" wide soft elastic band to help hold the mask onto the wearer's head. It has a layer of thick foam on the inside to make the hold tighter but can be cut off if it is too tight for the buyer.
There is a felt neck cover that looks like scales, this is flexible and soft. the ears are also partially made of painted felt.
The whiskers are made from cosclay which is flexible and durable! Try not to jam them hard but gentle flexing is good. The whiskers also glow in the dark!
Many many hours went into this special little Kobold and i hope it brings a lot of happiness! Please treat it gently, it has been sealed with clear coat but paint can scuff of on pointier areas.
General mask info:
- This urethane is sensitive to heat.
I recommend displaying these masks on a paper towel holder, motorcycle helmet display or a hat display to prevent warping that can occur from bearing it's own weight during long term display. If storing, please use bundled cloth/foam/paper inside the mask to support the shape.
Please keep it out of direct sunlight as it can warp under it's own weight when hot. If the mask does not fit, It can be heat shaped by using a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the inside of the mask. Gently open the mask by holding and spreading both sides while warm to make it wider. Set the shape you want by immersing the warm mask in cold water or leaving on an upturned bowl or object to hold the shape while it cools.
-This mask fits most faces but a perfect fit is not guaranteed. Cannot be worn with glasses.
- Do not use this as safety equipment or a welding mask or anything else but costuming. Use common sense, please. I am not responsible for injuries sustained through improper use of this mask.
