These stone carvings are found by forest paths and serve as an opportunity for travellers to petition for safety while crossing through the dense woodland. Offerings of small favored objects, morsels of indulgent food or small unusual rocks is an effective way to earn protection of this particular nature deity. Many travellers also leave small handmade effigies near these statues for others to take with them for continued luck. The custom is to replace a taken effigy with one's own carving on the next excursion through the area. There are reports of dishonest effigy "collectors" finding themselves stricken with a curse of gastrointestinal distress until the fair share is returned to the stone idol...

The original was sculpted in clay, this is not a 3D print.
The Waypoint Watcher is a 12" urethane hollow cast. It has been sculpted to look like stone but is not actual stone.
The green jade colored claws are cast in translucent urethane and will shipped unattached.
The 3.5" effigy is cold cast iron- meaning it is not a truly metal casting using molten metal- but is cast using urethane mixed with iron powder that gives it the weight and feel of metal. It can be polished like real metal.
- This is for one (1) unfinished 12" grey hollow cast of the idol, one (1) unfinished cold cast iron 3.5" effigy cast, a set of ten (10) translucent glow in the dark green claws and two (2) glass half dome eye cabochons.
The photos of the painted, finished pieces are just to show what can be done and to be used as a guide.
Here is the blank cast after a simple black wash/wipe off using the tutorial linked above, the stone effect can be easily achieved thanks to the sculpture's texturing :
This is what the cold cast effigy will look like out of the box. You will need to polish it with steel wool to bring out the metal sheen:
- I strongly recommend that the buyer have familiarity with finishing masks, models, props or some crafting knowledge or the desire to learn on their own. I cannot provide help beyond what has been provided here.

The basics:
- This is for one (1) unfinished 12" grey hollow cast of the idol, one (1) unfinished cold cast iron 3.5" effigy cast, a set of ten (10) translucent glow in the dark green claws and two (2) glass half dome eye cabochons.
- All cast pieces will be unfinished, untrimmed , unpainted casts.
- The buyer will need to sand/remove the flash edges, fill any small surface air bubbles , sand imperfections, cut out eye holes and assemble. I recommend familiarity with putty, epoxy clay, dremels , industrial hot glue and the safety precautions that should be taken when working with these materials.
A plastic nipper, a rasp , sandpaper or a dremel can be used to refine edges.
- I strongly recommend that the buyer have familiarity with finishing masks, models, props or some crafting knowledge or the desire to learn on their own. This is not a beginner project. I cannot provide help beyond what has been provided here. A lot of new people are finding my work thanks to this piece and I really REALLY must be clear about this.
- Please be sure to provide the correct address when placing your order, all orders will be shipped to the address im provided with and cannot be changed after the order is placed. I will have to cancel your order and ask you to re-order with the correct one. No exceptions, sorry!
